Yonkers Council Campaign Cash Update

First, the biggest name in the race, Council President Chuck Lesnick’s financial forms were unavailable as of last night.
Lesnick’s opponent, Republican Jim Castro-Blanco, raised $38,000 and has $26,000 in the bank.
The more interesting, and impressive numbers come in the city council races in the 2nd, 4th and 6th Districts. Republican John Larkin, running in the 6th, raised the most contributions in this period with $20,000 raised and $17,000 on hand.
No filing to date for Larkin’s opponent, Democrat Ted Winnicki.
In the 4th District-Republican John Rubbo, who has the Independence line and got into the race late, raised a very respectable $18,000 and has $12,000 on hand.
The other Republican in the 4th race-Dennis Shepard, raised 14k, with 7k on hand.
No filing for the Democratic candidate in the 4th-Mario DeGiorgio.
Also no filings to date from candidates in the 2nd District, Democrats Virginia Perez, Wilson Tererro and Jose Roman.
City Councilwoman Sandy Annabi, running for County Legislator, has $26,000 on hand in her campaign account, having raised $14,000.
Annabi’s opponent, County Legislator Jose Alvarado, hasn’t filed to date.
Campaign Cash Still Flowing in Westchester Despite Economy

Last week was the deadline for political candidates to submit their petitions to the Board of Elections, and to file their financial disclosure forms, both of which show a candidates strength or weakness, in this early days of Westchester Campaign 2009.
County Executive Andy Spano led the county field of candidates with a whopping $1.6 Million in the bank. Spano started the first six months of 2009 $1.4 Million and raised $451k .
Spano’s opponent, Republican Rob Astorino, raised a respectable $347,000, and has $316,000 on hand. Both the Spano and Astorino campaigns are already up and running, with both camps spending $290k Spano and $243k Astorino during the first 6 months of 2009.
District Attorney Janet DiFiore, raised the most money of any candidate so far in 2009, with over $500,000 raised. and $420,000 on hand.
Republican DA candidate Dan Schorr raised $57,000 and has $60,000 on hand.
Democrat DA candidate Tony Castro raised $22k, but has only $9319 on hand, with very little contribution activity, including none from you know who-Z
Westchester County Clerk Tim Idoni raised $72,000 and has $163,000 on hand in his bid for re-election. Idoni, a Democrat, will face Robert Morabito, who has the Republican line and is also seeking to challenge Idoni in a Democratic primary. Morabito’s financial update was not filed as of publication.
